    Improvements

    Overhauled the notes interface

BREAKING CHANGES. tl;dr: To make use of the change, instead of using --note "message", use --note write "message"
To see the new detailed usage of --note, run cldr --help --note. But in short, you will now follow --note with the operation you want to execute, which is one of: write, read, edit, list, remove.
All of the original parameters with notes, such as --read-note have been deprecated in favor of the new usage from above. They will still function for the moment, but will be removed in v2.0.

    Overhauled the config interface

There are no breaking changes, but effectively the same thing has happened with --config. To see the new detailed usage of --config, run cldr --help --config. Instead of --store-config and --remove-config, you can now use --config followed by the operation, which is one of: get, set, edit, store, clear.
As with --note, --store-config and --remove-config are being deprecated in favor of the above usage, they will remain functional for now, but will soon be removed.

    Editing

You can now use --edit, --note edit, and --config edit to open the relevant file in your default editor, which is set by the $EDITOR environment variable.

    Scripting flag

A new flag, --scripting has been added, this flag will enable general scripting optimizations, currently it is effectively the same as if you used --plain --no-auto in your arguments, but may do more in the future as more features are added.

    Tar archive support

cldr now supports setting the page source to a url pointing at either a .zip or a .tar.* file. Additionally, the default page source has been changed to make use of the .tar.gz archive from ethical-tldr, as it is significantly more compressed, leading to faster downloads.

    Animations for --update

There is now a little spinny loading animation when using --update. This does not display in scripting mode or when automatically updating.

    Semantic error codes

When something goes wrong, cldr will give specific error codes depending on the situation. Primarily useful for scripting, as you can use these codes to figure out what went wrong.
